ALFAMART VS INDOMARET

            Everyone has their own necessity for their life. They often buy something that fulfills what they want. Minimarket is the best place to realize it. As we knew, minimarket is a small form of the traditional grocery store which is a self service shop offering a wide variety of food and household products, organized into aisles. There are many kinds of minimarket everywhere. But, there are two kinds of minimarket which have an adjacent place. They are alfamart and indomaret.

While the similarity between alfamart and indomaret is the layout of the products, the differences between them are categorized by franchise, service, price, and selling product strategy.

                One obvious difference is franchise. The definition of franchise is a business system in which private entrepreneurs purchase the rights to open and run a location of a larger company. The franchise of alfamart is PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk, which have some loyal clients. Alfamart is mostly built in elite residence. Meanwhile, the franchise of indomaret is PT Indomarco Prismatama, which had ever awarded as franchising since 2003. Besides, it is a mascot of original product.

                Second category of differences between alfamart and indomaret is the service. Clients of alfamart must have AKU card which use to shopping there. From the AKU card, clients can get some profits when they shopping there. Meanwhile, indomaret uses check out system in cashier and BCA debit facilities to pay a fee. It will make a clients feel comfortable to shopping in both of them.

                Third category of differences between alfamart and indomaret is the price. Some people said that the price of product which provided in alfamart is more expensive than indomaret. It is because the product in alfamart is bought from distributor. It is really different from indomaret which the product is gotten from producer.

                The last category of differences between alfamart and indomaret is selling product strategy. Alfamart is not a convenience store because the products which sell in alfamart is rather expensive. Alfamart is built not only in residence, but also in a small village. Meanwhile, the strategy of indomaret is overall cost leadership. Indomaret tried to conform to social conditions of people. Besides, the industry of indomaret has an inexpensive cost.

                A similarity of alfamart and indomaret is the layout of the products. Both of them have shelves which arranged neatly. The position of products which have arranged is almost same. Sometimes it makes people assumed that there is no difference between alfamart and indomaret.
